30/01/2026
Phu Quoc ranks fourth among the top 10 destinations offering the most affordable airfares in 2026, according to Skyscanner (UK), a leading global travel search and price-comparison platform.
According to the Cheapest Destinations 2026 report released on January 22, Phu Quoc is the only destination representing Vietnam to appear on the list of places offering the most reasonably priced round-trip economy-class airfares for travel in 2026.
The ranking is compiled based on actual flight search and booking data throughout 2025, drawing insights from millions of monthly users worldwide on the Skyscanner platform.

Phu Quoc’s inclusion among destinations offering competitive airfare—alongside well-established beach tourism hubs such as Phuket (Thailand), Manila (the Philippines), and Denpasar (Indonesia)—highlights the Pearl Island’s steadily improving air connectivity, both regionally and internationally.
Beyond ranking highly for affordable flight costs, Phu Quoc has also emerged as one of the most promising travel trends for the year ahead.
According to Skyscanner’s Trending Destinations 2026 report, Phu Quoc ranks second worldwide in terms of growth in flight searches, recording an impressive 184% increase year-on-year. Skyscanner notes that Phu Quoc is particularly well-suited for resort getaways, thanks to its pristine natural landscapes, unspoiled beaches, and a tranquil atmosphere ideal for relaxation.

According to travel experts, these results reflect the combined impact of visa policies and transport infrastructure. Phu Quoc is currently the only destination in Vietnam offering a 30-day visa exemption for international visitors. At the same time, the island’s expanding network of domestic and international flight routes continues to enhance accessibility for overseas travelers.
In 2025, Phu Quoc welcomed approximately 8.3 million visitors, exceeding its annual target by more than 18%. International arrivals reached nearly 1.9 million, almost doubling year-on-year. This upward momentum has continued into early 2026, with the number of international flights to Phu Quoc Airport rising by around 40% compared to the same period last year.
Phu Quoc’s consistent presence in Skyscanner’s reputable rankings underscores that the island is not merely benefiting from short-term travel trends, but is steadily building a sustainable competitive advantage—grounded in reasonable travel costs and an increasingly comprehensive ecosystem of experiences.
Skyscanner is a UK-based global travel search and comparison platform, enabling users to explore flight fares, accommodation options, and car rental services from hundreds of airlines and partners worldwide. Its data insights and travel trend rankings are widely regarded as a reliable indicator of international traveler interest in emerging and established destinations alike.
